Gynaecology
Dr. Brims covers the management of a range of women’s health issues including heavy periods, polycystic ovarian syndrome, postmenopausal bleeding, investigation for gynaecological cancers, management of ovarian cysts, vaginal prolapse, management of urinary incontinence and contraceptive management including permanent sterilization.

Colposcopy
Colposcopy and management of abnormal pap smears:
Colposcopy is the procedure that is required after a woman has had an abnormal pap smear. It may also be used in the investigation of women who have abnormal bleeding, especially bleeding after intercourse.  

Infertility Management and IVF
Infertility including IVF:
Dr. Brims covers a range of infertility issues, including initial investigation of couples with fertility concerns, management of infertility associated with polycystic ovarian syndrome and women who have experienced recurrent pregnancy loss. Dr. Brims also offers an IVF service through Genea Canberra.  

Obstetrics
Obstetrics is the management of women during pregnancy and labour.
Dr. Brims is currently working at The Canberra Hospital looking after public obstetrics patients. She does not currently offer a private obstetric service but hopes to do so in the future.

Pre-pregnancy Counselling
All couples have a different experience. Dr. Brims will run through all the possible available tests with you and discuss which tests are best for your situation.

Recurrent Miscarriage Management
All couples have a different experience. Dr. Brims will run through all the possible available tests with you and discuss which tests are best for your situation.

Heavy Periods
1 in 5 women will experience heavy periods at some time in their life. Dr. Brims will run through all the possible options to best suit you.

Abnormal Pap Smears
A pap smear is a screen tool for detecting abnormal changes to the cells of the cervix. 1 in 20 women will have a pap smear test that returns as abnormal.
